We are electing our representatives for the university senate of the MedUni Vienna, for the ‚KA-AZG‘ (hospital working hours act)-representatives and for the equal rights working group.

When?
June 12h and 13th, 7-17h

Building 88, 1st floor, Room ‚Großer Sitzungssaal‘ of the rectorate

Staff ID or regular photo ID

Who can vote?
All individuals, incl. doctorate students, with an active employment status with the MedUni Vienna on Feb. 25, 2025

What’s it about?
Three important committees that shape the present and future of the MedUni Vienna. The senate can be compared to a university parliament, where decisions regarding career pathways, the criteria for habilitation, or calls for professorships are made. The AKG ensures equal rights regardless of gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation and is the first point of contact if these rights are infringed. The KA-AZG committee is important in all questions regarding physician’s working hours and the implementation of federal or EU law.

What does team GAKU stand for?
Dedicated, constant, honest, transparent university politics

What have we achieved until now?
Public transport ticket, active support to reach equal opportunities for women (incl. Support for care work), teaching tenure track (IKV-Lehre), clinical tenure track (IKV-Klinik), payment increase, Green University.

What do we want to achieve asap?
Improving the MedUni Vienna!
– Equality amongst the different career paths (IKVs)
– Understanding our university as a common place for preclinical and clinical employees
– Improving life at the MedUni Vienna – more kindergarten spots, a gym, improved bicycle infrastructure, and much more!

Who is standing for the election for team GAKU?
We are proud of our strong team representing the variety within the MedUni Vienna (clinical/preclinical, red/green towers of the AKH, juniors/seniors).
